Richard M. Davidson is Senior Research Professor of Old Testament Interpretation at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan, USA. He has served on the Seminary faculty since 1979. Davidson has authored ten books including Flame of Yahweh: Sexuality in the Old Testament (2007), A Song for the Sanctuary (2022), a commentary on the Song of Songs (2022), and a commentary on the book of Exodus (2025). He has also published more than 80 chapters in scholarly books, over 130 articles for refereed journals and popular religious magazines, as well as presenting scores of scholarly papers at professional meetings and presentations for TV and social media outlets. He is married to Jo Ann Mazat Davidson who is also a Senior Research Professor at Andrews University Theological Seminary. They have a daughter, Rahal Wells, and a son, Jonathan. Davidson enjoys sharing Scripture and helping to make it come alive in people's experience, whether in Bible Lands tours, scholarly or popular writings, the classroom, pastors' meetings, week-end seminars in local churches or Bible conferences. His favorite outdoor activities include backpacking, mountaineering, cross-country skiing, and tennis.
